Summer Reading

Summer is such a great time of year for reading! I would encourage each student to join the State of CT 2010 Governor's Summer Reading Challenge and also get involved with the local town library summer reading programs. Our library offers fun and exciting summer reading programs with all kinds of incentives and fun activities.

My challenge for our class is for each student to post about a book you are reading and what you like or don't like about the book. Try to post once a week but feel free to post as often as you like to discuss books with fellow classmates. How fun to stay connected through the summer and have something exciting to talk about when we return to school the end of August!

I believe teachers and most parents support the importance of keeping children educated throughout the summer by reading. Adding technology into the mix through the use of a blog, could help increase communication and tech skills. My question to teachers and parents is -

Do you think children will welcome my Summer Reading Challenge Blog?
